Recently I did some design work on an iPhone app called LiveStache. The app uses facial recognition to automatically superimpose various mustaches on people.I designed the icon for the app along with all the various mustaches. The app is available to try for free and the full version is only 99 cents in the Apple App Store.
2010 is coming to an end. Not that it was a bad year, but it did have its ups and downs. I shared a large part of it with my favorite person in the world and had some amazing experiences with her that I will never forget. I also had some great times with friends and family, visited some incredible places, worked with some awesome people and learned some very important lessons. It makes me sad looking back at this year and thinking these times are over, but I will keep these memories with me always and look at 2011 as a new chapter in my life.
In the next week or so I will be posting my thoughts and memories of 2010 including travel, music, food and more. Stay tuned.
Today I got this gift in the mail from Yaya that I thought was pretty amazing. It’s a hand-signed limited edition screen print of a Dexter illustration by artist Ty Mattson. Apparently there were only 50 prints made and I was lucky enough to get the 50th one!
A few months back I began working on a project that eventually became known as Birth. For several years now I have been working strictly as a freelance designer. While I enjoy it, I miss working with a team of creatives. Birth is a collective of my closest and most talented friends and associates working together to create.
We got our business cards in the other day, which for me was the first small step to what I hope will be something great. I am really excited for future projects and to start creating with a team again.
Discovered a good blog that contains lots of quality free typefaces. Definitely worth a look.
If you want quality design you have to pay for it. Clients that aren’t willing to pay for quality design, generally aren’t quality clients.

I have mentioned before how I really like the cover art for the new Vitalic album. Here is a video demonstrating how it was done. It’s cool when people are still willing to plans something out and do it the analogue way rather than putting it all together in Photoshop.
