World’s Most Polluted

Not that it’s all that surprising, but it is a bit scary to see the chart above and realize I have spent nearly two years of my life in the World’s most air polluted region. I am actually quite surprised to see how low the Americas are on the scale. Read more here.

A friend of mine, Patrick Wack, was commissioned by French production company, Wemotion, to shoot the whole series in Shanghai. This is a beautiful portrayal of nightlife in Shanghai. It really makes me miss it. Nice work Patrick.

Time Spent With Contrails - Wallpaper Collection

Time Spent With Contrails

Time Spent With Contrails is a collection of wallpapers compiled of photographs shot by yours truly. They were taken and collected over the period of a several years and thousands of miles. From Los Angeles to Hong Kong, from Vietnam to San Francisco these photographs were all taken on 120 film and left untouched by Photoshop. The photos are now being offered as a collection of fifteen wallpapers that includes several sizes for different screen resolutions, iPhone and iPad. Every photo in this collection was shot on 120 film with either a Holga 120 CFN, or a Diana with a 38mm Super Wide lens. No editing software was used to color-correct or touch up the photos in any way.

My Two Cents On iTunes 10

iTunes 10

I hear a lot of people complaining about the UI changes in the new iTunes 10. To be honest as far as the UI changes go I think people get a little too nit-picky, very quick to criticize any little change made. I am not really sure how the colors of the menu icons really effects my iTunes experience all that much. What I (and I am sure many people) REALLY think they dropped the ball on is not offering a subscription based service. You ask any Rdio user and their iTunes usage has drastically dropped after signing up. But if Apple offered a service with a monthly fee that included music, movies, tv all in one place I would seriously consider it. I hope Apple isn’t getting to be one of those companies that is getting their fingers into so many pies it can’t keep up with the little guys.

I have been sitting on this for a couple weeks now. Yaya and I did it one night when we were bored. I submitted it to the official Nic Cage as Everyone blog but it seems he is no longer posting. So I decided to put it up here. Do yourself a favor and check out the large version.

Lima, Ohio

Kewpee

Earlier this month I was in Lima, Peru… tomorrow I am going to Lima, Ohio. I will be leaving Cleveland heading back to Salt Lake City this Tuesday, and before I left I wanted to check out small town Ohio. We found this small town called Lima that sounds pretty strange and unique. Apparently there is a Kewpee burger chain and the flagship store is in Lima (if you don’t know Kewpee click here, or here). Anyway, should be interesting.

A masterpiece created in 5 minutes. Amazing and beautiful to watch such skill and precision. Again this makes me wish I would have stuck with calligraphy after my mother gave me that set for Christmas when I was young.

Peru Trip Wrap-Up

DSC06332

I am back in the country after a two week adventure in Peru and things are finally calming down. It was a tiring trip with lots and lots of traveling via plane, train, bus, taxi and boat. That being said I saw some of the most beautiful countryside and landscapes I have ever seen. Peru Is a beautiful country and two weeks was not even enough to barely scratch the surface. We were able to visit Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu and an area of the Amazon called Manu. It was my first time to South America, but I can be sure it won’t be my last.

Check out a bunch of photos from the trip

Tomorrow Yaya and I have a long day of travel. We are headed to Peru for a couple weeks for a bit of a Summer journey before she has to go back to school. We have a pretty loosely planned itinerary, but at the moment the plan is to head to Lima for a couple days… then on to Cusco to see Machu Picchu… and then to the Amazon for some jungle adventures and to hopefully avoid any run-ins with big ass bugs, snakes or crocodiles.

I will be leaving my laptop at home, but should have access to internet occasionally to post photos and update on the happenings. Though I am looking forward to being ‘unplugged’ for a while.

On the Road Again

Earlier this week I left Salt Lake City again and headed back to Cleveland to stay with my girlfriend who has one more semester of school left here. This is my second trip to the now Lebronless Cleveland. I am rather impartial to the city, but I must say there are some good eats here. The first thing we did upon my arrival is head directly from the airport to Happy Dog. Damn good stuff.

Last night we went to see Delorean and Glasser play at The Grog Shop. The crowd was disappointingly sparse, but the show was as good as I had hoped it would be.

Later this month Yaya and I will be headed to Peru for a couple weeks. It will be my first time to South America and I am really excited for the food, Machu Picchu and a little jaunt in the Amazon for a few days. Just crossing my fingers I don’t get Malaria or bitten by one of these.
